MASTER OF COUNSELLING (DISTINCTION), POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN COUNSELLING (DISTINCTION)
Shiranthi is a full member of the NZAC and has been working as a counsellor since 2011. Her part-time practice in Porirua is based around her young family. Alongside her work with Little Shadow, she sees clients through Telus Health (formerly Benestar), is the Vitae onsite counsellor for tertiary students at Whitirea / Weltec in Porirua and sees private clients.
Shiranthi’s professional practice is enhanced and informed by her journey as a mother to two young girls and her experience of an ectopic pregnancy. She is Sri Lankan and was born and raised in Aotearoa. She welcomes clients of all backgrounds and identities.
Shiranthi acknowledges that becoming a parent is a life changing journey, full of so many intense emotions and understands the importance of good support at this time. She believes it takes great courage to seek such help - especially if this is your first experience of accessing counselling. She seeks to create a safe space to work together to process your feelings and explore possibilities for change. Shiranthi is happy to go at your pace and welcomes feedback at all stages.
